The Department of Trauma and Microsurgery IV (Lymphedema Specialty) was established on March 29, 2019. The department has a total of 18 medical staff, including 9 physicians and 9 nurses. It currently has 42 authorized beds, admitting approximately 1,300 inpatients annually and performing about 1,500 surgeries per year. The department is equipped with an intensive care unit, trauma and microsurgery wards, and other facilities, offering a comfortable environment, complete equipment, and strong technical capabilities. It is one of the hospital's key development departments.

Under the technical guidance of President Huang Dong, the young medical and nursing team led by Director Lan Rongyu has carried out various complex replantation surgeries for severed fingers and limbs, as well as infant and toddler finger replantation; various types of thumb and finger defect reconstruction, toe joint transfer, and aesthetic reconstruction; application of micro-thinned perforator flaps for repairing various types of composite tissue defects in the limbs and trunk; and application of bone transport, Masquelet technique, and perforator flaps and other microsurgical techniques in severe limb trauma limb salvage treatment, achieving first-class standards in Guangdong Province and advanced levels nationwide. The team also has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of late-stage functional repair and reconstruction after hand and foot burn and scald deformity injuries, various chronic diseases (such as tumors and bone diseases), and hand and foot rehabilitation.

In recent years, the department has been at the forefront of technological innovation in the field of microsurgery. In 2021, the department successfully introduced an innovative lymphedema treatment method—the combined Lymphaticovenous Anastomosis (LVA) and Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer (VLNT) technique, bringing hope to lymphedema patients and improving their quality of life.
